Wednesday only means 1 thing anymore!

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We're getting down to the nitty gritty in the BBT. I currently sit in 4th just 1 stinking point behind NewinNow. But there is plenty of time for me to make an run for the top spot currently held by my arch nemesis Bayne!! KAHN!!!!

I haven't been playing much poker as of late due to my interest in perfecting my Internet radio broadcast. Last night I did some more work to the audio quality and I really think it's going to be a great show tonight. Please tune in.

I'm going to run through you options for connecting to the stream.
1. WinAMP. This is one of the easiest ways to listen to the broadcast because it will default to being the program that opens the stream. Easy peasy japanesey!

2. iTunes. Almost as easy but you may have to point your computer to opent the listen.pls file with iTunes.

3. This one is new. My website http://www.buddydank.com is now running and has my entire library of songs listed. On the left hand side of the screen there is a link that says Click to Listen. If you select that it will open another window and it will automatically play the stream from there using Window Media Player. You may need to use Internet Explorer if Firefox isn't working for you.

4. I've been told Realplayer works but I fucking hate Realplayer and have had problems walking people through the setup who have tried to use it. This one is up to you.

5. Others have used programs like Foobar2000 and VLC Player but again these are for more advanced users who have the time and knowhow.

YOU CAN NOW MAKE REQUESTS FROM MY LIBRARY OF SONGS AT WWW.BUDDYDANK.COM. I also will be accepting requests through IM at my yahoo messenger account CRACKSMOKINGROBOT.

If anyone is interested in getting their voice on air then you can join us. I'm now using Skype. You will need to have a microphone and speakers.(Headphones are preferred) My Skype name is also Buddydank. Dial me up during the show and I'll patch you in.

So join Sean and I for a night of high comedy and groovy tunes.

And a I need to say a big THANK YOU to Jordan for the Buddydank Radio graphic!

Poker and Chess

Played in the MATH last night and lost early with set over set. His higher set turned into quads but that just added insult to injury. The biggest casualty in my play last night was that it dropped me to 4th in the overall BBT standings. FUCK! I have to do something to get into the top 2.

I did another broadcast during the MATH last night. Wasn't doing too much other than playing tunes until I busted out. Then I started working on the audio problems when getting Sean from Instant Tragedy on air. Wow did that fail. I should be able to get it all squared away by The Mookie. I will also try to get more specific instructions so that everyone can listen. I won't name names, but someone was having a little trouble getting the stream to work. *cough-the HOST-cough* That provided a fair amount of entertainment last night.

Jordan from High on Poker has started a little chess club of sorts. I must admit that it is addicting. I think we've got enough people to play a small tournament. After playing Schaubs in a few games, I think I'm starting to get back into the right mindset for chess. It's been awhile.

Things are looking up!

I did another broadcast during the Friday night donkament. And again had a positive response. I went out in 5th when Kat cracked my aces. Good times!

I've been working on some improvements for BuddyDank Radio. I found some better software to stream with and it is awesome. I can do some much so easily and the sound quality is much better.
One of the new features is the ability to view the library of music and make requests that will automatically be played. It's pretty sweet. I will continue to take requests through IM and whatnot because I may not already have what you want to hear but I can usually get it pretty quickly. The new site for requesting music is www.buddydank.com.
Another feature is the sound effects board. The software allows me to have a ton of goofy sound fx's setup that can be played at anytime. I've been busy looking for the best ones.
I'm also considering changing over to Skype for my co host to connect with as well as for other parties who want to get on air. Still working on that one though.

So please check out www.buddydank.com to request some tunes as BuddyDank Radio is Live almost all the time now a days.
I was recently asked if I'll be broadcasting during all blogger events. The answer to that is YES. But I will only be doing commentary during The Mookie until the BBT is over. I need to concentrate on finishing the final events strong. But after that I'm going to try to do commentary for all events. Music will be available for all of them starting NOW.

I hearing good stuff from people in Vegas. Can't wait to read more updates. Sorry I missed it but am looking forward to future gatherings.

Oh what a night!

Wow! I'd like to thank everyone who tuned in last night for helping the Mookie live broadcast a blast!!! We had a record 23 people listening in at its peak, and minus a few minor technical glitches, everything came together really well.

For those who missed it and those who will just find it entertaining, I'll recap last nights events.
12:00 My boy Timmy hooked me up with the new server stream to handle my bandwidth problems and I immediately went live with the broadcast from work. I was just playing the Waffles song in a loop over and over again. Shortly after Timmy called me to ask if I like waffles. hehe.
5:30 I get off work and rush home to get everything ready.
6:00 The stream was officially live from my home and I almost immediately had 4 listeners. Crazy.
8:00 After some fine tuning of my equipment I made a few announcements and started queuing up music for the evening.
9:00 Start of the Mookie and still Instant Tragedy had not shown up to co host but I managed to do my best to play and keep up with the action. We were already up to 15 listeners shortly after the poker began almost doubling last weeks numbers.
10:00 First break in the Mookie and we were sitting at 19 listeners and then I started getting some good requests.
10:15 It's just like, it's just like, it's just like, A MINI MALL!! Thanks to Mookie for sending that wonderful clip. One of my favorites.
10:25 I bust out of the tourney after the points bubble pops and can finally focus on my DJ duties.
10:26 INSTANT TRAGEDY SHOWS UP AND THE PARTY GETS STARTED!!! Seriously, what a boost it was to have him helping out with the commentary. I had time to drink more and things loosened up all together.
10:40 Prop bet time! We started wagering on who would final table and with this sucka! I put all my faith into Meanhappyguy and I think Sean had OSU. We had several other picks but these were out primary ones.
11:10 Second break and requests are coming in like crazy!! I was downloading everything I could get my hands on to please the masses. Beware what you request because Hanson was played! MmmBop BABY!
11:30 Somewhere during the past 30 minutes we were down to the final table and had quite a few railbirds chatting it up and listening in. I was getting a bit tipsy by this time and afraid I may have scared some folks away with my singing in the background.
11:35 Time flies when you are having fun! My boy Meanhappy guy almost pulled out the win. It was heads up between him and Doogman and Doogie took it down. The music had shift a bit from classic rock to rap and hiphop due to the number of requests coming in. I had none of this music but my friend Ares was happy to oblige. So the games over and that means the parties over too right??? NOT AT ALL. ON TO THE DOOKIE!
11:40 The Dookies was just getting down to the final table and the crew of railbirds all moved over to that game. We continued to rock on and good times were had by all.
12:00 Wow, I'd been on the air for 4 hours now and we still had close to 20 people listening in. Then it happened!!
12:01 ABBATILT! There was some discussion about Abba and I played a request for it. I was upset with the Abba bashing and went on Abbatilt myself. BUT then I put everyone else on Abbatilt by forcing them to listen to it. Part way through the song everyone was rescued by my main man TIMMY. He jumped into the stream and announced that he was going to cut off my access to the server if I continued to play Abba. It was funny shit. I of course stopped the music out of respect to the server admin.
12:30 Can't believe we're still going this strong but everyone seemed to be having a good time. We're down to the final 3 at the Dookie and it was prop bets galore. I had Bayne picked to go all the way early and he was on his way to winning this one for me but it was not meant to be. My memory gets a bit fuzzy around this time but I think it was Mattazuma that won it. I might be wrong, blame the Captain.
12:40 We called it a night and what a night it was. I had a blast!

A big shout out goes to Mclarich who again did a stellar job live blogging the tourney. Thanks for all the pimpage!

Now after all that I got to bed and awoke this morning so I could get to work. I had the small problem of still being drunk when I got up today but it's not like it was the first time that's ever happened. So I sit here drinking my coffee and watch porn clips.(seriously part of my job)

There are somethings to improve for next weeks broadcast. I'll be working to improve the audio on my microphone and the teamspeak server needs some tweaking as Numbono can probably attest to. He tried to get online but it was causing feedback that he disconnected shortly after. I think I can solve these issues so I hope more people will look into getting a mic working with their computer to be a part of the broadcast next time.

Thanks again for the support and good words. I really hope to make this a staple in the blogosphere we all call home!

Coming to you Live from the MOOKIE!!!

Once again we will attempt to cover the action packed madness known as the Mookie. This week I will be joined by Sean from Instant Tragedy where hopefully his experience in the radio biz will spice up the commentary and professionalism to keep things interesting.
Feel like joining in on the fun?? Do you have something to say to your fellow bloggers or a bone to pick? Then here's your chance. Sean and I will be chatting it up throughout the event on a teamspeak server. This means that if you have a mic setup on your computer and want to download the necessary software then you too can chime in your two cents.

To get involved in the action tonight you will need a couple things. First if you want to listen to the broadcast you will either need iTunes or WinAMP.

1. If you have WinAMP it should automatically open it up and start playing. This is the easiest way to listen to the stream.

2. If you only have iTunes you can open the stream using two different methods. First one is when you click on the stream it should offer to let you Choose the program you would like to open it with. You will need to Browse to the Program Files/iTunes directory and choose itunes.exe. The second slightly simpler way is to Choose to save the file listen.pls to you computer. I suggest the desktop or my documents folder. Then open iTunes and go to the top heading of File. Select Add File to Library and browse to the listen.pls file and select it. This will add it to your library toward the bottom of the list if sorting by Artist. Double click on it to start it.

3. And I have not tried this but Yabi sent me a link for a plugin to allow Windows Media Player to listen to the stream. Download Here!

The link needed to open the stream is http://radio.buddydank.com:9000/listen.pls

If you want to get your chatter on then you need to download the teamspeak client from the following address. http://www.goteamspeak.com/index.php?page=downloads&id=1a
Just go to the bottom of the page and click I Agree to start the downlaod. Then install the program and open it up. Go to the top heading of Connection and select Quick Connect. Type in the server address of www.buddydank.com and a Nickname. Then click on Connect and you should be LIVE! Feel free to test it at anytime throughout the day today as I will leave it running.
*Note- you will be muted from the stream until we put you on the air.

And again I take REQUESTS! Just IM me on Yahoo Messenger at cracksmokingrobot@yahoo.com

THE NEW SERVER IS UP AND RUNNING!!! WE SHOULD HAVE PLENTY OF BANDWIDTH FOR ALL!!
I want to give a shoutout to Timmy for setting this up for me. He's such I nice guy. I'll have to think of something special to show my appreciation. I wonder how much a hooker in Iowa is??

More To Come!!!

Buddydank Radio coming out in full force!!

A small number of people tuned in last week during the Mookie broadcast. I had a few glitches and think I will have them all worked out by the Mook this week. Tonight I'm working with a friend of mine to use a server with basically unlimited bandwidth to eliminate the buffering issues. And I've spoken with Sean from Instant Tragedy in hopes of having him co host the event with me. I'll most likely be following his lead since he does work in radio for a living. And along with that we should have a teamspeak server setup to allow others to be on the broadcast. Now who doesn't want to hear a Waffles rant live on air??!! I've got a lot of work to do this week to make sure it's all going to work out but I'm fairly sure I'll be ready.

Don't forget about the MATH tonight! Only 2 BBT tourney this week so it could be a record turn out for both events!

I really really wish I was going to Vegas this weekend but short of me being fired and given a large severance package, it ain't gonna happen.

I will post details on the show this week as well as information one might need if they want to speak to the masses during the show!

After that I chipped up enough to stay about average the whole night. but after stealing several times, I ran QJo into AQ and IGH.
Congrats to Waffles on his second final table in 2 days. And to Hoy for his nice run last night as well. We were so close to having Waffles and Hoy heads up for the title until Waffles suffered a pretty sick suckout sending him home in 3rd.

I'm still working on getting the offsite server setup so I can handle more bandwidth for the Mookie broadcast next week.
Check out my usage graph from Wednesday.

My max upload is around 640k so I was maxed out for quite awhile there. This was why people were reporting the rebuffering issues.
I am also in the works to join up with Sean from Instant Tragedy to co-host the event.
