2nd in the Mookie!!!

Heads up I had a good chip lead at one point but we went back and forth so much that I just was bound to make a mistake. And I did, board was 662 and I had a 2 and came over the top all in but he had JJ. Dumb move on my part. He had min raised preflop and I should have taken heed. But I am very happy overall. I was super low early on and managed to steal and fight my way back.
This really helps my bankroll that was at $15 just yesterday. I've been avoiding putting more money in with the state of online poker these days.
All hail the Mook!!!! My best finish in a blogger tourney yet!

A message to Neteller!!!!

Poker and Rendering Poker

So I played in the WPBT event yesterday. I did as well as I would have expected, I lost early. My AK ran in to KK and when a K hit the flop, stupid me thought my hand was good. It was not.
With all the crazy Neteller things happening and me being low on funds in my account, I have had more time to commit to starting my animated shorts.
I got most of the table, chairs and chips done. And started on my first character rendering.

I should be able to get most of my characters done in the next week or so and then start the animation process. My current goal is to have something basic done and viewable by the end of the month.
I've got ideas for 6 characters and the figure you see is my dealer. He will eventually be a joker kind of thingy once I get his head done.
I'm already working on some scripts and am going to keep things short and simple to start with. Eventually it would be fun to animate actual games that had been played online, such as a blogger game with some of the comedy stylings coming from the rail but I'm miles away from being capable of that.
I'd love to hear what anyone thinks of my ideas and such!

I'm playing very poorly!

Last night at the Mookie I made it through about half the field but then in an act of desperation when I was short stacked I pushed in with 9-10os only to get run over by pocket rockets. Horrible play on my part and that pretty much sums up my game lately.
I am also in the same boat as most with having trouble finding a good way to fund my poker account. But luckily enough my cousin sits on a large bankroll that he's not sure how to get out of his FT account. It's nice to have family that is generous enough to stake me until things settle down.

Ok, so since funds are low I have a new project. I dabble in 3d animation so I'm animating my own series of comedy shorts that are based around poker. My table, chairs, chips and other easy stuff are rendered. Now I just need to create my characters and start animating. Wish me luck and I hope to have something out in the next month.

My Aces Hurt me BBBBBAD!!!

A picture is worth....oh in this case about $11.00, No Mookie goodness for me.

I have Mad Skillz!

So I'm playing this SNG and I come up with a great idea. How about I get as low in chips as possible and see if I can work my way back up and win the sucker. Ok, so that's a lie. I took some beats and got way low on chips to the point where I just wanted to see if I could pull out a 3rd place finish.
My plan is working perfectly and we get down to the last 4 people. There were 2 short stacks and 2 big stacks. The big stacks continued to play poker as I and the other shorty did nothing but wait for the other to be blinded out. And then finally shorty made a move and was taken out! YES! I was gonna get back a little for my effort! Shortly after I got pocket 2's and pushed. I was called by pocket 6's and he hits a 6 on the flop.

But with my Mad Skillz I rivered the straight and now had a few chips to work with. A few hands go by and shortly after the guy that just doubled me up goes out loosing to a higher flush. It's now just me and big stack. He has about 10X more than me but I'm still just happy to make second after the run I had.
I was ready to go in on anything just to get it over with since I would be blinded out in about 2 rounds. I shove with crap cards and he just sits there. Huh? He times out, just checking and i hit middle pair on the flow and bet out. He insta folds. Huh? Next hand he insta folds. I'm a little slow so it took me a second to figure out what was going on. He was either disconnected or away. So I start to blind him out as quickly as possible. I take enough chips to get even and I'm thinking I'm gonna win this thing just because this poor sucker lost his internet connection. I steal a few more hands and then out of nowhere There Is A Five Minute Break!!!!! Now why there are breaks during single table tourneys on Full Tilt to begin with is beyond me. Luckily he doesn't come back and after the five minutes I continue to take the blinds and with him down to a little under 2000 chips he comes back and goes all in.
Here's how it went down.

I got lucky one last time and I take it down!
See? Mad Skillz!!!!!

Nice little run tonight.

I played in the Riverchasers tourney tonight and out of 100+ people I managed to finish in the money in 15th place. Nothing really big or shocking happened during play, it was just a normal game for me and I felt I played pretty well.
After that I played several sng's. I finished first in 2 10 dollars 9 player tourneys and was the first out in a 5 dollar 9 person tourney. The second 10 dollar tourney was a hoot. 4 people were knocked out before the blinds even went up. then the last 5 of us battled it out for about an hour. I had my ups and downs but toward the end I was short stacked and I had to just start pushing. But I got lucky my fair share and got my stack back up to a decent amount. Then finally the other 2 small stacks were eliminated and it was down to 3. Right away they battled it out when one of them flopped 2 pair and pushed only to get called by a flush draw that fell on the turn. Now it was just me against a very very big stack. I hit just about every flop I played and took it down with a flush against his trips. It feels so good to be the one getting the lucky breaks for once.

Let's get this party started Right!

So after months of reading people poker blogs and hovering around watching some of their games I decided to play the Mookie. Why? Cause everyone else is doing it! Well not just cause of that but more so I can work on improving my game and get back to being a better player.
I finished last night in around 12th place. I am satisfied with that for now. I wouldn't have been nearly that if I hadn't hit a couple 3 outers to keep going. After making some bad calls and a few good ones I can now start my journey.

A little about me.
I've had different websites in the past. A blog here and there but never really had much to write about. I still own those domains but seeing as how I no longer work for an ISP it's more difficult to setup the hosting so this seems as good as anything, plus myspace freaks me out. After working for an ISP for the past 3 years I decided to move on and try something new. I now work for a small software company as a software tester. It's fun, easy and the company is incredible generous.
OK, poker! I'd started playing online many years ago on PartyPoker with just play money. Then one day I decided to try a little real money, ohhh ok so who am I kidding, I finally got a credit card I could put money in with, so what? You wanna fight about it. I spent the next couple years losing fifty bucks here and there and never won enough to cash out anything. And then it happened. I was playing a freeroll tournament with about 5000 people or something ridiculous like that and after 6 or 7 hours of play I won the damn thing. Now since it was a freeroll it wasn't exactly big bucks but it got me thinking. Maybe I can win at poker. I put a little more money in my account and started playing higher level games. The first month I won about one thousand dollars and cashed it out and bought my first ipod and some other toys. Then a couple months later I won two thousand and I bought a big screen HDTV. I continued on this streak for around 4 months finishing around nine thousand up and thinking I could take on the world!!! So what happens next? PartyPoker folds to the new laws the US is making and they won't let me play anymore. I took a break from poker while I was changing jobs and moving and such. And then one day I decided to get back in the game. First I got on World Poker Exchange cause of the rake free environment. But their site has so few players that you can't always get the kind of game you want to play, and their sng's suck. My cousin was playing on Full Tilt and PokerStars so I figure I'd try one of them out next. I moved on to Full Tilt and started messing around a bit. But can you guess what happened? I got my ass beat, my butt kicked and my asshole reamed. I lost! Me! I had lost before of course but never like this. My trips were getting beat by bigger trips. I'd never seen so many bad beats in my life. So what is my conclusion to all of this? uhhhhhhhh, I'm not sure. But there's a good chance that there are a lot more better players on FT then were ever on PP. Plus it could just be my time. Everyone goes through their ups and downs. And so here I am. Entering into the fray with my guard down for everyone to see.

It'll be interesting to see if this catches on.
Peace, Ice-T, Geto Boys!!!!
